Expert Mold Inspection and Remediation Services

Call microGARD First for Mold Inspection and Remediation Solutions.

It often starts with cold or flu-like symptoms that don’t go away. Maybe it’s something in the air? Or, maybe it’s more obvious than that.

We will start with a few questions to get a history of how the air quality has changed in your home. Armed with that understanding, we do a thorough INSPECTION of the complaint areas and get an overall picture of what is happening throughout the house.

Sometimes taking SAMPLES is necessary to identify the type of mold and the quantity of microscopic spores floating unseen in the living area.

We will provide a written REPORT of our findings and the LAB ANALYSIS of the samples within a week. We also provide a comprehensive REMEDIATION PLAN and ESTIMATE to help you BREATHE EASY again.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are all molds toxic and dangerous to humans and pets?

No, not all molds are toxic or dangerous to humans and pets. While some molds (including species of Aspergillus, Penicillium, and Stachybotrys) produce mycotoxins – toxic substances that can cause health problems – many do not. Mold exposure can cause allergies or respiratory issues in some individuals, but toxigenic molds, which produce mycotoxins, pose a greater risk.

If I can’t see it should I worry about mold?

Yes, you should still be concerned about mold even if you can't see it. Mold can exist in hidden places, like behind walls or under flooring, and still cause health problems and structural damage. If you suspect mold due to a musty odor or unexplained health issues, it's best to investigate further, potentially with professional help.

Can I test for mold myself?

Yes, you can use DIY mold test kits, which are available at most hardware stores and online retailers. These kits typically include petri dishes, tape strips, or swab tests to collect samples for analysis. However, these kits may not detect all types of mold or identify the extent of an infestation. Professional testing is recommended for accurate results and proper remediation, according to the EPA.

I just need bleach to clean the mold myself, right?

While bleach can kill mold on some non-porous surfaces, it's not always the best or safest choice for mold removal and can even worsen the problem. Bleach contains water, which mold thrives on, and can also be harmful to your health and the environment. Using a bleach solution can also be ineffective on porous surfaces like sheetrock and wood, where it may only change the color of the mold, allowing it to grow back.

How long does it take for mold to grow after a water leak?

Mold can start growing in as little as 24 to 48 hours after a water leak. While visible mold may take longer, the initial germination of mold spores can happen very quickly in damp conditions.

Why should I call a Certified Professional?

Certified professionals can identify the type of mold, assess the extent of the infestation, and pinpoint the underlying causes, including hidden moisture problems. They have in-depth knowledge of mold types, health risks, and the best remediation strategies.

Certified professionals are trained in using proper safety equipment and protocols to protect themselves and the building occupants during the remediation process.

Can I trust the products you are using are not worse than the mold you are killing?

MicroBan has bought out the company that I was buying my proprietary antimicrobial formular from! The former company had a growth-prohibiting product that could not be matched. Now MicroBan is not selling it to small vendors. My second-step secret weapon has been locked away.

The answer? Vital Oxide. Unlike the previous product this is a full strength product that is rarely diluted. However, it has the same active ingredient so that I can make the same claims in regard to efficacy and potency against mold, viruses, bacteria and odors! And unlike more dangerous, caustic products this can be applied by Electro Static Sprayer for the ultimate in microbe fighting coverage. In the interest of full disclosure you can look it up here — https://vitaloxide.com/pages/mold-remediation

How quickly can microGARD get me breathing easy again?

We can typically schedule a visit the same week and start the remediation the following week. Most residential jobs can be completed in one or two days.

How much should I expect to pay?

Pricing depends upon the size of the home and the scope of the inspection. If samples are necessary, we typically take 3 samples at $100 each. Turn around time is about one week. Remediation can be as small as a damp bathroom to a flooded finished basement! Every project has to be priced by its own scope and level of difficulty.
